School Recycling Contest Results for 2014-15

This week's article in The Daily Citizen Wednesday issue is all about recycling at school. The results of the 6-month school recycling contest are in - 35 schools in Whitfield County recycled 372,730 pounds of mixed paper.  That's the weight equivalent of 104 mid-sized cars!

Please join is in congratulating the following schools that placed in the top three in their category.
Elementary school: first place, Learning Tree School with the recycling rate of 88 pounds per student; second place, Pleasant Grove Elementary at 70 pounds per student; third place, Dug Gap Elementary at 48 pounds per student.

Middle school: first place, New Hope Middle with 86 pounds per student; second place, North Whitfield Middle at 27 pounds per student; third place, Westside Middle at 24 pounds per student.

High school: first place, Southeast Whitfield High with 15 pounds per student; second place, Coahulla Creek High with 12 pounds per student; third place, Northwest Whitfield High with 11 pounds per student.
