Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority Landfill Gas Collection and Control System
The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) to obtain Proposals from qualified Contractors to construct a landfill gas extraction system expansion at its Old Dixie Hwy MSW Landfill (4189 Old Dixie Highway, Dalton, GA 30721). The contractor shall prepare a highly detailed proposal based upon the conditions and requirements specified within the request for proposals document which can be obtained through the Authority’s website at https://www.dwswa.org or the City of Dalton’s website at https://www.daltonga.gov/Bids.aspx. A Mandatory pre-proposal conference is scheduled for 10:00 AM on May 1st, 2026 at 587 Gazaway Rd., Dalton, GA 30721.
Bids will be received until 3:00 p.m. EST, Thursday May 21, 2026, and then opened and read aloud at the administrative office located at 587 Gazaway Rd, Dalton, GA 30721. In order to be considered a qualified proposal, the contractor must be in compliance with the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act and shall submit with their proposal packet, a signed and notarized affidavit verifying its compliance with O.C.G.A. §13-10-91. The ITB, specifications, and contract documents for this Project are open to public inspection at the Authority’s administrative office located at 587 Gazaway Rd., Dalton, GA 30721. PUBLIC NOTICE
A moratorium on solid waste generated outside of Whitfield County went into effect August 15, 2022, and will continue indefinitely. This moratorium prohibits the disposal of waste generated outside of Whitfield County.
